A Rebel Without A Cause;
(By Ben Delaney)

Today on my teaching prac I was talking to this young girl. She had already been kicked out of several schools and suspended 5 or more times from 10 different schools. The last school she was asked to leave because she threw a chair at a teacher and some other stuff. Yet the most surprising thing about this girl is that she's only 14.

On the outside she looks like a normal girl, but if you look, just a little deeper, you will see an immense amount of hurt and turmoil in her heart.

She was trying to give me a hard time, but my heart just went out to her. I asked her what did she value in life, is it friends, family, herself. She said none of those, she just didn't care. Her only short term goal was to not get kick out of school.

I just wanted to give her a hug and tell her that God loves her. I could see even with all that rebellion and hate, underneith there was someone just confused and wanting love.

There is so much freedom in Christ. It says in the bible that 'when the Son (Jesus) sets you free, you will be free indeed (indeed infers that there is a fake freedom)'. There is freedom from depression, from hurt, from addiction. There is so much peace and joy and hope in Christ.

Let us not take what we have for granted. So many people are hurting. Even in our workplace, there are people searching for God. Let us not hide out lamp of hope, but rather place it somewhere for all to see. God give me wisdom to make an eternal impact in a limited time.
Amen

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
